My name is Katie DeSantis and I live in Middletown, DE. After graduating with an BA from the University of Virginia and then working as a NYC Paramedic, I moved to Charleston, SC when I went back to school to pursue my dream of being a Chef. I attended the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of Charleston. While I did not specialize in pastry, I loved it. After meeting my husband, an Air Force Pilot, marrying and having two daughters, I began to think a small pastry business would allow me to spend much time with my family than a job as restaurant chef would. I started with helping friends with their children's birthday parties, weddings, baby showers and as word spread, Sugar Babies was born in 2011. I have since provided pastries for numerous weddings, showers, birthdays, retirement parties and have shipped my goodies all over the country and
to soldiers stationed overseas.
